Best deal on NiMH AAs? Help with the NiMH blues.

Sorry if this has been posted elsewhere, but what's the collective wisdom on the best deal on rechargeable AAs with some serious oomph?

I got some from eBay, but right now some of my AAs don't seem to be holding a charge well, and I'm having a hard time distinguishing the duds from the ones still working.

I've ordered from Batteryspace before, but the customs and shipping to Canada more than doubled the price.

What's the Official Word from CPF?

I'll speak for the collective and say Sanyo Eneloop.

But you can find every opinion under the sun on CPF.

There is a section on CPF just for discussing batteries, prepare to get moved.

I'd avoid ebay like the plague. The off brand ones are 90% crapola, some of the name brand ones are fake.

The current highest capacity available is 2700 mAh, and they don't work so well.

8 pack of AA Sanyo Eneloops are $14.96 at Circuit City stores (not sure if they are in Canada) which is about the lowest prices I've seen on these batteries.

OK, sounds like the 3500s on eBay are probably crap.

I'd love it if someone can steer me to a reputable CPF vendor who sells decent AAs. The Eneloops sound good, if not quite as powerful as some. I could use some 2000 mAh Eneloops for the occasional use lights, remote controls etc. and some 2700s for my modified Apex.

Incidentally, Duracell has been flogging their new rechargeables. Are these the same tech as the Eneloops?

You might want to read this thread before you invest too heavily in 2700's. And keep in mind that Sanyo is considered one of the best brands out there.
