I just got a go signal from my BOSS so I have at least $120 to spare to build an INCAN.

-I prefer a LEEF body (with a style of Combat Z2 or G2Z or closer)

-Body is not to big or heavy-- smaller the better

-Must be able to use 18650 rechargeable.

-Must be 9v or higher.

-At least 30-45 minutes runtime.

-BEST OF ALL It can handle 300+ lumens

-Can accept dropin`s from LUMEN Factory and LED`s.

Pls. I need to build this lego and I need your recommendation...from bezel to tailcap.

Really appreciate your input guys!

:)

Without a doubt, in the 9V area, the 2x 18650 and LF EO-9 combination is very much on top of the list for me. My favourite is the Sniper body, 168 extender and the LED tailcap for versatility and high performance in one package. You may need to mention your plan when ordering to get the correct LED tailcap. Get them from PTS in the US or Quarterflash in Australia. More details in link;

If you go with the wolf eyes lego (my recommendation) remember that the led tailcap doesn't work when using one of the cree led drop-ins. You would need the standard tactical type.

This is half right,.....the led tailcap will not work but by inserting the cell/s in with the + towards the bezel, the main lamp will work......if you want to disable the led taicap while using incan lamps, you do the same thing.

You could just order an Ultrafire 500 ($26) several spare bulbs $6 each and an Led dropin ($16)...and have lots left over......
A friend has a 500...and it is real powerful, and well built.

Thanks for the response guys,

Hmmmm. that Ultrafire 500 looks nice! wow! for $25!

500 lumen w/ charger and batteries!

Is it durable?

Didn`t see the shipping cost! he he he ...$40 for shipping!

Smart way of savings EBAY fee...

he could`ve just sold that for .99 cents and shipping cost at $64 he he he...

With the Wolf Eyes cree's I have not long received the batteries must be put in + first (my m90 is the opposite - first).

The Cree fitted lights must be + first, regardless of tailcap. You can use the LED tailcap but it will not work while the main Cree lamp will.

With Incan lamps, the light will work with either + or - first regardless of tailcap. If you use the LED tailcap, it will only work with the cells going in - first, if they go in + first then only the incan lamp will work and not the tailcap......

This has been tested on my Raider and I did not try this on any other light even though I cant see why it should be any different on other WE models.

Glen, can you comment?

$120 won't cover a complete ideal leefed setup that you are describing...... unless you already maybe have some of the stuff needed, or are willing to put a few more dollars in the mix...

My recommendation is as follows:

1. leefbody 2x18650 C head C tail: $70
2. leefgrip $15
3. SF compatible "C" Tailswitch ~$20-$50 depending, leef/mcclick recommended.
4. C style bezel/head, G&P for $13, or try to find a used SF bezel, ~$10-20 I'm guessing.
5. 2x AWs *new* protected 18650 cells. $24+ship if I recall..
6. a charger if you don't already have one, ideally, a Pila IBC if you want the safest most reliable, if you know what you are doing safety wise, you can get by with cheaper chargers like the WF-139 or a DSD.
7. Surefire P91 lamp. ~$25 (300+ torch lumens is pretty typical on 18650s)

all together that's upwards of about $275 if you get the best of the best, if you go for the G&P bezel, a cheapo charger, skip the leefgrip, go with a less expensive switch option, you can get down to around $175 or so. which wouldn't be too bad I suppose.

If you must keep it around $120, keep it simple and just go with a Wolf-Eyes M90, you can get the rechargeable kit put together for $120 at PTS, ask for CPF discount and ask if you can get a EO-9L lamp instead of the stock one (even if you have to pay some extra)

if you want to try to make it even cheaper... go for the M90 but ask mike over at PTS if he can swap a 9V LF lamp (EO-9L ideally) into a standard M90 and sell it to you like that, buy a pair of 18650s from AW, and read up on how to safely use a WF-139 charger.

I think we might need to have mdocod :banned: for a few days. Aren't you supposed to be on your honeymoon. :twak: Sheesh.

Thanks for the input mdocod :twothumbs

LOL... got back yesterday, we went camping/fishing for 4 days as our honeymoon, got to play with plenty of flashlights and headlamps. It was great, was our first time camping together and we had a ton of fun.

pizzajoe: IIRC the older pila chargers are ONLY supposed to be used with pila cells as the charging system relied on the special protection in the cell itself to terminate the charge... check with CPF member Silverfox to confirm. A leefgrip is a little grippy thingy that slides onto the end of a tactical flashlight to give it the same type of gripping as a G2Z or similar type light. (for 2 fingers and a thumb to hold comfortably.)
