Best replacement lamp for 4D Mag?

Since I got some DECENT flashlights, my 4D Maglite has been reduced to "house duty".
Now I'd like to upgrade it if possible. Is there a better lamp available for it? Anything would be better than the pathetic yellowish donut it throws against the wall.......Help!

KPR103. Krypton 3.6 volt 0.8amp overdriven at 4.8 will give you super bright white beam. The bulb should last at least 10 hours with 4AAs, don't know about D cells as they are more powerful.

Keep the original spare in case it blows!

If you don't want the extra heat and reduced bulb life use an XPR113 Xenon 4.8v 0.8 amp.

The KPR103 is a 3D bulb you can get at Walmart.
The XPR113 is a 4D or 6V lantern bulb you can buy at RadioShack.

The HPR50 is a considerable improvement and easily available at Radio Shack.
