Just a general observation. This type of topic comes up very frequently.

I think it would be quite helpful if people asking for 'as much throw as possible' were to specify, or were asked, what distance they really expect their illumination targets to be at.

100m, 300m 2km?

It is all very well saying someone needs a Delph like aspheric, but there is a point where too much collimation might be a bad thing. Stick an XP-E at the focal point of a telescope and you might be able to project a relatively tiny hotspot some Km away, but without a pair of binoculars to look at the illuminated target it might not be very practical or useful.

If the intended distance is 200m, a 1m diameter hot spot might not actually be as useful as one that is 8m in diameter.
