Biggest solar flare goes off

Maybe a dumb question (certainly not my dumbest, I hold some records /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif ) but...Is there a chance solar flares are a contributor to so-called global warming? I realize space is a very cold place and the flare has to travel a great distance to get here but it made me wonder.

The Sun - like most other stars - does rotate on its axis, so Earth won't receive the brunt of whatever flares or CMEs occur.
Cell phones and beepers might not work so well for a couple of days, but if there are clear skies at night in your area, Aurora Borealis and Aurora Australis displays might be visible, particularly intense, and reach latitudes they might not normally reach.
