Hi guys, so I picked up a Charger off an online auction site, sellers says he got them off his local Police station so were all duty lights.

I got a nice example and the battery looks nearly new, Nimh pack.

Question is Im not sure what model it is, I have high and low and also strobe which I wasnt expecting.

Im also wondering if and how to replace the bi pin lamp holder with a ceramic slug so I can upgrade the bulb. Is there differences in the models in which I can remove the switch parts?

One more question, how would I be able to tell iterations apart, do serial numbers have an advancing number the newer the light or are they all random?

Thanks I had a look but they are all to do with which mods and bulbs I can use in them.

I asked which model I have and how I find that out, also if and any models wont allow fitting of a ceramic slug.

Yeah they do look good, but for now im going all out incan, ive got another one on its way.

Im hoping to get a 1/2d cell extender to run a wa1111 at 7.2V

Any other ideas on a 7.2V bulb

Still not sure on the models though and which one is best.

Help me find G4 Bi pin bulb stockists for 6V-7.2V applications

Hi, so im back into incans a little and im finding it very hard to find decent G4 bulbs for modding my mag chargers.

If I could find 10 WA1111 bulbs I would snap them so fast but I cant find anywhere in the UK or US who would ship for less than the price of a bulb, all online US stores want $50 to ship a handful of bulbs to the UK!

Guys help me out!

abarth 1200,
I have a couple of different FM bi-pin adapters for a few m@glites (not -chargers), and a very small amount of various assorted bulbs, and I did some very rudimentary plug-and-play hotwire mods a few years ago, although I only rarely indulge myself with them now, although I just got my first 4 Energizer NiMH D-cells, and will run a Strion bulb off of 3 of them, once I get them fully charged up. Anyway, I printed up some of LuxLuthor's destructive incan test charts several years ago, and I'm wondering if the Philips 5761 might be of use to you. It will go from a nominal 6 volts up to about 7.8 volts, and is 30w. At 7.2 volts the predicted output is anywhere from 1237-to-1448 lumens. I have scribbled the notes on that page, "use unprotected Li-ion rechargeable cells", which was undoubtedly someone else's observation in a CPF thread. I don't know what the implications of 30w would be for the rechargeable chemistry in your m@gcharger. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable than I will weigh in. At 7.2 volts, The predicted service life for the Philips 5761 drops from a nominal 100 hours down to about 11.2 hours. Since Philips is a Dutch(still?) consortium, perhaps it would be easier to find in your neck of the woods.

Hey thanks for the info, I have been eyeing the 5761 up and have found them to be more available than WA lamps around here, I would need a larger hole in my reflector and like you said I don't know how well my Nimh battery pack would hold up to them

OK while im waiting for somebody to come along and tell me not to run a philips 5761 bulb in my mag charger, I have just went and blown one of the original bulbs after it had been in the cradle charging for 24 hours, surely im not the only one this has happened to otherwise Maglite would have had a lawsuit years ago when they were new!

Voltmeter on battery pack read 7.24V, looking at luxluthors testing on the charger bulb I thought it was good for 8V+
