What does "olson black" mean?

It's actually "oslon" as they have some connection to "osram-sylvania" and Black is the line of LEDs. I assume Flat is just their moniker for the domeless Black LEDs.

The black flat is the same size as the Cree xpg2 but is brighter and has more intensity.

i dont know if its actually brighter. xpg2 is capable of 1000 lumens. this olson led looks to be around 700 lumens. i think the die is slightly smaller then xpg2 there for the higher surface brightness

Xpg2 Die size is 1.47 x 1.47mm

Olson Flat black die size is 1.03 x 1.03mm

Capable up to 800 lumens, brightness density up to 1.5x that of xpg2.
