I drop my E2 for the first time today from a high of about 1m+ (my waist height) & I blew of my first bulb.I curse at myself for being careless and I thought wat the hell......

I change the bulb with a fresh one when I am back home about an hour later seated on the floor. I tested the E2 & it works fine.

As I was happily packing up, I fumbled and dropped the E2 with my brand new bulb from a height of you guess....(SEVEN)7 INCHES. I pick up the E2 breathing hard & I press the button.....NO LIGHTS!!!!

All right, I got butter-fingers...etc, & I deserve to blew my first bulb. However from a height of 7 inches...I dun believe that the bulb is so fragile....

I would continue to use the E2, but I be darn more careful in the future.Anyone with a similar expensive experience?

That is very uncharacteristic of the E Series.

Give SureFire Customer Service a call to find out if they can help.

Please let us know how you get on.

Thanks

Al

I can't tell you how many times I've dropped my E2e (and M3, and my E1) and not had a single bulb break as of yet.

Wow, that would *really* ruin my day! But rest assured that Surefire will replace the lamps. I don't suppose you kept 2 spares for your light? (Probably not...I can't afford to...)

That's very unfortunate indeed. I heard SF had produced a bad batch of E2 bulbs...i guess you got 2 of 'em. I dropped my orginal E2 MANY MANY times without it failing. I've dropped the bulb itself twice from 4 feet hight and then sliding 6 feet on a hard tile floor. And it still worked. It failed a few months ago after only 8 battery sets. I have a feeling that it was my fault for constantly touching the bulb with my fingers AFTER applying silicone grease on the threads. Bad idea...don't do it.

But i called Surefire and told them about my problem. Without any hesitation the operator said. "What's your address?" Without knowing why they wanted my address i gave it to them anyway; i thought they were going to arrest me for treating there products like that. But she ended up telling me at the end: "Your new E2 MNO3 bulb is on its way and should be there in 2 days." Boy was I happy. I tell ya', i've never told anybody that i loved them that many times over the phone. Thanks SF!

No harm to try though.

Destroid, yclo,

SureFire's warranty is solid and very generously applied. It doesn't matter where in the world you are, the back-up is superb. I wouldn't be so enthusiastic about SF if it weren't for the product support being so comprehensive and universal.

My E2's 60 Lu MN03 has survived an aggregate of 25 metres of drops so far. (I don't know why, but I'm always dropping it. I remember Spidey saying the same thing.)
Plus, I gave it to some kids to play with at a wedding party - it came back with a dent in the bezel, but still working fine.

To have two MN03's fail in one day - that's very unusual ......

Hi, All.....I mustered the courage to call Surefire on 11/12/2002.......on 24/12/2002, I am pleasantly surprised to receive the two(2) MNO3 from Surefire.....I must say I'm very very impress with the service that Surefire provides.

Least to say, the lady that spoke to me at Surefire sounded surprise that I blew two(2) blub within a day.....

destroid monster:

was that the E2e i sold you btw? the second bulb was brand new though....

anyway, the first 6P i got came with a dud P60 lamp, and surefire sent me a new one and it arrived in a week. the E2e that i sold you had a leaking bezel lens seal, and they sent me a replacement bezel as well. the M2 i just got has a leaking bezel as well, and a new bezel is also on the way. surefire customer service will support you no matter where you are

their customer service is unsurpassed, just that i think their QC could be better.

In the last 4 months i droped my E2 more than 5 times to concrete and asphalt from a hight of 30 cm to 120 cm and the bulb is still working great.
But my E2 has 1 small character mark now :-(

Character marks give your things character and owner identity "Mine is the tool that has been used, not the one for show..."

I have small dings and dents on most of the SureFire's I have. On some, there are serious dings from serious abuse. It shows they can take a beating!

I dropped my E1e off the vanity in the bathroom it landed right on the rim of the bezel at an angle! and I still works! I think I should stop trying my luck.
