Most likely not a "movie revolution" like Avatar but I thought it was one of the better movies I have seen in awhile (liked it more than Avatar).

Sorry everyone, no flashlights.:sigh:

I was entertained the entire movie. I was a little worried that Denzel would not live up to the part of being a apocalyptic warrior type person because he is getting up there in age but he played the part very well.

If you like the Mad Max type movies, you will like this one.

I thought about the Fallout Series of video games when I saw the preview. Does this ring as something that Fallout fans would enjoy?

VERY Mad Max-ish! :twothumbs Fallout? Hm.... my husband is a huge Fallout fan. Don't know if he equated this movie with it but he did like the movie a lot. To a certain degree (if one wanted it to be), this was a pretty heavy movie... but very well done. And Denzel... well... he's still got it...

I saw The Book of Eli also. Really good movie. I was thinking of The Mad Max movies as I watched it. I'll definitely be getting this one when it's released on DVD.

I do have to admit, the only thing that a theater offers is a big screen and good sound. This will be a good movie to own because you would not lose much watching it at home.

When I watch a movie, I really watch it. It takes something really special to get me out to a theater because of all the "on a date" talking, cell phones ringing, people sounding like they are doing construction work while eating their candy and popcorn, the nimrod usher prancing ceremoniously down the aisle with his red-cone-tipped flashlight swinging like a pendulum--going up to the front of the theater emergency exit doors--pushing hard & loud enough to make sure they are latched (and no freeloaders coming in), then the various people climbing over other people to get more candy/sodas/bathrooms, and finally the mad dash to exit before the final credits and music can be played (which I consider a part of the movie).

To add one thing that annoys me - the encroachment of commercials. I don't mean the previews, but actual product ads. Consider that a family of four will spend probably more than $60, including the super over-priced refreshments, for entertainment that is most often less than 2 hours, and still they get ads thrown at them.

I once was at a movie theater and, when commercials started, this lady sitting behind me actually shouted that the commercials should be stopped. But other than this brave lady, audiences just sit though the commercials in complete apathy.

In my opinion, if I am paying a big fee to watch something, it should be commercial free. If I am not, then commercials have a role. This goes for cable TV as well.
