Yes I finally did it today after waiting anxiouslyall these weeks I finally pulled the pin and bought a Maha C9000 from Sydney which will hopedully be couriered here to Perth, WA. Paid a total of $91.70 inc Express Post (overnight) airfreight delivery.

I've waited sometime for this beauty and after reading so many happy users here who own and use this charger I thought why not and I'm sure this charger will go down in the books as being one of the best chargers out there.

Now this baby looks far more advanced compared to my simple Sanyo Eneloop charger with settings you would probably find in a Boeing 787 Dreamliner :D especially with its advanced LCD screen.

Now as I'm a newby to this and I currently own some quite new Eneloops that have already been used and probably charged three times now, whats the best mode or thing for me to do when I get this charger, eg fully discharge them and recharge again or wait till my Eneloops are fully depleted before recharging again. Also I'm sure there is postings here on what rate I should charge at using both AA and AAA type Eneloops. Also oneday I've got plans to buy and try some Imedions from Servaas as well as these are the competitor to Eneloops. While the AA Eneloops offer 2000 Mah the AA's in the Imedions offer 2100 Mah.

Oh well I'm really looking forward to my new toy and will let you all know how I go.

For eneloops I just leave them at the default charge rate, stick em in and forget them. Every few months I'll do a cycle and check capacities and try to keep the batteries in matched pairs.

I got my C9000 last Friday.

It's been running constantly ever since.

I have a ton on non LSD cells that I have to test to see which are salvagable and which ones go into the battery recycling program.

I just finished testing with the break in cycle all my old non-LSD cells. I have ten Sanyo 1650mAh cells from 2001, four 1500mAh cells from 1999 and eight RayoVac 2000mAh from 2004.
The sanyos lost between 5% and 20% of their initial capacity which averages out to .75% to a little over 3% per year loss.
The Rayovacs lost between 3 and 6% per year capacity.

This shows a difference in quality to me the ROV's lost twice the amount as the sanyo's.

I'm also doing the break in cycle on my older non-LSD Rayovac 2000 mAh cells.

The first set that went through break in showed that 2 cells lost about 400 - 500 mAh capacity each. I'm expecting similar results from the second set currently in the charger.

I still have 16 more non-LSD cells to run break in cycles on before I even get to the 24 LSD cells.

I think I'll save the questionable ones for later and try to revive them once I get the good cells charged.

I think I should have bought two C9000 chargers :)

That sounds about right on with the losses mine had after 4 years. Funny thing is the Sanyos lost a little less but in 7-9 years. Yet another reason I won't buy anything rayovac anymore.

I've had the Rayovacs that I am having issues for about 2 years. I have no idea how old the gold coloured ones actually are though.

The sets that are giving bad numbers so far were charged quite a bit in a dumb charger (22 hour timed) before I got a smart charger last year (not the C9000).

I had a PS4 and it was part of my reasoning for stopping use of re-chargeables a few years back. once I learned of decent chargers and low self discharge batteries I've went back 100% and sold the crappy rayovac on ebay.
