BR Lights look interesting

Saw this link http://www.brlights.com/index.html in another thread posted by Cave Dave. Their quote "Our Fall 2008 release of a 1,000 lumen light is going to blow the doors off the competition, especially when you see the price!" This looks interesting!

While they might be bright, BR really needs a better design for their light housings. I'm a function before form type of guy, but those lights are not only ugly they also look like they were made in someone's garage.

Interesting concept. They do use Li-Poly batteries, so weight should be an advantage but it isn't.

The model designed for helmets weighs 300 grams vs. 210 grams for a race helmet vs. 118 grams for a Fenix L2D-CE with batteries.

I suspect that the 1000 lumens might be a 2XP7 configuration, since that would fit their physical packaging.

I'm really waiting for Lupine to deliver a 7XP7 version of the Betty. Perhaps they could call it the Sarah.

I think they look fine. I wonder when the "check back in a week" was posted. If they are anything like HDS it was last year.

Note the use of LiPoly instead of LiIon. Lower energy density but faster charge and safer too.
