Hi there just wondering can give me some answers, ive brought a brand new pack of 4 Duracell Rechargable 2450mAh which im using in a Original Mini Maglite with a TerraLUX TLE-5 MiniStar2 Extreme LED drop in upgrade

just wondering how long should be or about the run time bcus im not getting very long at all.I expected a lot longer due to the 2450mAh batts only getting around 10-15mins surely that not right?

anyone had any experience with the same set up?

many thanks...

Do you have any way to measure voltage or current (that is to say, do you have access to a multimeter)?

It's going to be very hard to say anything without measurements.

Measurements to take then:

What is the tail cap draw on fully charged batteries?

What is the voltage of each cell when (immediately after if possible) the light stops working?

What is the tail cap draw on fully charged batteries? how do i measure that plz

the cells read when light goes quite dim about 0.9.v-0.94 around there thank you

It means to measure how much current is being consumed by the light when operating. To measure it you need to put your multimeter on the 10 A current range and place it in the circuit between the batteries and the light. The easiest way to do this is usually to remove the tail cap from the light and touch one probe to the battery while touching the other probe to the end of the battery tube. This should cause the light to light up and the current to be displayed on the meter.

You can see an illustrated guide to making this measurement in this thread:

If your batteries are reading 0.9 V when the light goes dim they are certainly fully discharged, possibly over discharged. It would be an idea to stop and recharge before the light gets this dim to give the batteries a longer life.

Are you using the batteries right after charging them or are they sitting unused for days or longer (possibly self discharging)?
