I was buying a new Spyderco the other day, and noticed the store had a number of Fenix lights behind the counter. When I talked with the clerk about it, he told me that Fenix now has a Manufacturer's Representative in the US, and that a growing number of brick and mortar stores are starting to carrying them.
They had a fair selection, eight or ten models. I played around with a TK11 for a while. They also had some E01s in different finishes, an L2D CE that another customer seemed pretty interested in, and some of the CR123 models (don't have any, so I don't know them very well).
This store also has a large selection of Surefires. The clerk said that Fenix was definitely cutting into their Surefire sales. Not surprising, considering the different price points. And yes, I know the lights are NOT comparable in many ways -- I have and use both brands -- and don't want to start another Surefire vs. Fenix fight.
The store is Recon-1 in Tarzana, a suburb of Los Angeles. I'm not connected with the store, and don't gain in any way from their sales. I just thought Los Angeles area CPF members might want to know.
