ramptapult..do the LX's come in AA? Mine are 123s
and I got them today at the local WalMart for $19.97.

No. The LX is 123 only. The guy I talked to at Brinkmann customer service (to buy extra bulbs), told me the only complaint they have had on th LX, is people assume they are AA (don't look at the batteries or read the package. oops).

You can get 123s for $1.65 + S & H from http://www.cheapbatteries.com/ (minimum QTY of 48)

These are GE-Sanyo CR123A.

ramptapult...to answer your question as it was asked, Brinkmann Legends DO come in AA. The Legend LX's are CR123. If it's a Legend AA you're looking for to do your mods (the Legend AA is a very good lite for modding BTW...), KMart usually sells them for about $7.95. Do a search for Brinkmann Legend and you'll get quite a few sites to choose from. Also, you can go directly to the Brinkmann site to order (free shipping), but their prices for Legend AA flashlights are quite a bit higher than other sites. FYI...
