I often go to the Wal-Mart in Hixson, TN (outskirt of Chattanooga) after work and last night I saw the Brinkmann Legend LX in stock! This after many months of not having a place on the peg rack for it! Price is $19.97 with a set of batteries. The rest of you might be seeing the Legend LX at a Wal-Mart near you!

Swung by a Wal Mart outside of Reading Pa this weekend. They had 5 Brinkmann LX flashlights. Picked one up since the Wal Mart stores in Northern Virginia always seem to be out. This is my third now. Hey thats 180 lumens plus... Noticed that this one is more hightly polished than the other two. Still comes with sanyo batteries .

Saw 4 Brinkmann Legend LX's in Pearland TX (just south of Houston) Wal-mart. Not even a super-wal-mart. Same price, 19.97

Saw pegs full of them at the several different Walmart Supercenters in the Baton Rouge / Hammond area this past weekend.

On my roadtrip I stopped at 4 Wal Marts in 3 states. All four had the LX's. And my local Wally World now carries them. Looks like they're here to stay.

Conway and Little Rock, Arkansas has them. Picked one up and was very impressed, lot of bang for the buck, just have to cut the rubber off the handle. Took my brother a full two days to steal it from me. Guess he needed something to go with my former E1 and Scorpion.

I have been lusting after an LX for the last few months. Never seen a single one in my Walmart until today. Nice flashlight. I walked around with it for at least 10 minutes before deciding I'd rather buy something else to mod with a LS...

I started thinkin about how 75 cents worth of (3 Kirkland AA) batteries would fare against a pair CR123's that costs over 6 dollars.

The Super Wal-Mart in Petoskey Michigan has them also. I got the last Dorcy CoolBlue light though, was $8 but rang up for only $4.50...wish they had more of these.

Regarding the 123 batteries you just gotta know where to shop, they can be found MUCH cheaper than that

I have two LX's....one with the p61 lamp that i carry with me 24/7.... 120 lumens from such a small light comes in quite handy.

The Granbury, Tx store has one less now that I've been there and back. Leaving them about five left!

and..where is the best place to shop for 123s? I know you gotta buy in bulk...and I can do that but I want to buy maybe 12...not 48

i bet you could find a cpf member willing to sell you just 12 and you could also split the 223(i think thats what there called) batteries ino 123's.

I love LED lights, and own several "3 led" lights, 2 LE ARC AAA's, Inova X5, an LSs, and a Lambda Illuminator, and love them all, but . . .

For piercing the night at long distances, the Brinkmann Legend LX is definitely in a class by itself.

Guys, since I have gotten on CPF, I have gone competely OUT OF CONTROL!!! I have ordered and bought more lights than one person could ever really need.

I ordered an Arc LE. It arived yesterday from Brightguy.com and it is quite a piece of craftsmanship! I have it 'chained' to the key ring of my UK 2AAA that I've carried for some time. The Arc isn't replacing it, just joining the UK in my pocket. I also have a Photon II on my keys. Who needs three small flashlights in their pockets?!!

While at Wal-Mart, last night, I remembered the topic of THIS thread. Found one of the Legend LX, which found it's way in my basket.

About the Legend LX, I will say this. I am quite impressed with the beam quality of this light. Very bright, and absolutely no signs of dark spots or rings!!! It feels good in my hand what with the weight, the grip, and the aluminum. Except for the eventual high cost of the batteries, I have to say that this is the best light I've purchased thus far, except for my triple Luxeon bike light that Wayne was nice enough to make for me.

Anyway, GOOD JOB, BRINKMAN!!!

Slick,

I'll have to agree with your sentiment of going with cheap AA's versus 123's. But the question comes to mind, just how long do most of you use a door-burner like the LX? A minute or two at a time? And are the bulbs that fragile? I have a ways to go before justifying the cost of batteries for a seemingly great flashlight like the LX!

123's can be purchased for $.70-$7.99/ea you just need to look around for the good deals
smile.gif

I have sold 123's to members here at $1.25/ea

Yeah you guys are right, I have to agree that a Luxeon's not going to compete with the LX for throw... I use my 1,000,000 CP Vector for that - but it sure won't fit in my pocket like an LX would.

The cheapest I have been able to find CR123's for is $2.95 a pop for Tek Cell. I can't buy or bid on Ebay for battery deals, because I refuse to give Ebay my credit card #.

Of course, by the time I talk myself into buying the LX, they'll be gone..(I almost stopped by on my lunch hour to bag it).

I guess the irony here is how having gotten so into modding my own flashlights, nothing that's "stock" gets me too fired up anymore. I still can't believe that I passed up such a great little light for only $20

They have the LX at my local Wal-Mart now.

In Harvey Louisiana.

This is the same store months ago that I had make a shipment from a Houma store (about an hour away) for 2 LX to their store so I can pick them up
