Brinkmann LX at Galyan\'s; $20
The Galyan's near me had 8 or 10 Brinkmann LX's. And the helpful clerk told me there were more in back. Thanks for the tip!!!!!!
The Brinkmann LX is a *great* light for the money. No, it's not an E2, and never will be, but for $20, or 1/3rd the price, it's just *great*.
At that price, it's less than the UK 2L, one of my favorie lights.....
They are almost disposable, at that price.
I'd like to get a spare lamp or two, though...because I'm sure I'm going to get a least one more for myself, and likely 1 or 2 for gifts.
I don't quite understand why the head is so *big*, it makes the light look funny, but it looks like there's plenty of room in there for a LS LED, and a circuit board for power regulation. Or a lot of other things.....The next great platform for more size efficient LS mods...like an Arc-LS, but with *2* 123's?
One thing is certain: nobody is *ever* going to mistake it for an Arc LS!!
I mean, it's a *homely*, if very functional, and cost effective flashlight. And, I like the switch. Takes a bit of getting used to, but I'd rather have a *heavy* tail clicky switch, than a *light* one.
I think Brinkmann is going to sell a *lot* of these lights; many to people who already own SureFires, but who want a light that's almost as good, and won't cause major anguish if damaged or lost.
