I saw a Brinkmann MaxFire xenon rechargeable at Academy's today. It has two xenon bulbs in two small textured reflectors, arranged vertically, making it a very flat, compact, and lightweight unit. It could switch from one beam to two. Ingenious design. Does anyone have it or want to comment on it?
Btw, there was no price label because this was a new product.

Edit:I have changed the words in the subject. I hope that's okay.

Re: Small double bulb xenon spotlight

Ya I saw one at microcenter the last time that I went to buy a new computer. But I couldn't buy it because I still don't have money. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon23.gif

Re: Small double bulb xenon spotlight

Followup: The package says it has a SLA battery, instead of a nicad pack described in the link. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif I also noted that the wall-wart charger is 300ma. The light is somewhat lighter and much more compact than other full-size spotlights. However, I don't know about the runtime with the small SLA battery. It would probably charge faster though.

The price was $24.99

The bezel assembly was strange. IIRC, the two xenon bulbs are protected by a single plastic lens, and two small textured reflectors were used. I do not know why Brinkmann put textured reflectors in there to smooth out the beam. This light may be a floodlight. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon3.gif Don't know, but definitely an original design /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif.

I remember the trigger was momentary, and one can lock the trigger on. A switch in the rear of the light allows you to adjust from one beam to two.

Has anyone else found one in their local Academy's sporting goods store? Do you think it's a good buy? I still don't have it yet.
