Speaking of the Rebel- I was kind of curious about the handy-dandy little color filters that came with the light. Just checked them out with the light meter-
These figures really don't mean a lot, because the sensitivity of the meter is no doubt maximized for white or yellowish white light-
But anyway, Here are the readings I got. The first figure is the LUX reading from one meter and the second is the LUX reading with the light in contact with the sensor:
White: 127 - 11,500
Red: 11 - 850
Amber 57 - 4,780
Blue 37 - 2,900
This is with the energizer (2007 date code) AA alkalines that came with the light- they have about 20 minutes of use on them.
To the eye, there isn't that huge a difference in light level though
Mr. Stingmon who has some high class, expensive light measuring magic tools could provide more accurate and useful readings, and a learned explanation as to what and why and how on this subject.
