I've been looking for a driver/power supply to power 50 red cree and 20 blue
cree leds, they are all going to sit in one fixture which will plug into a 115V household plug. is there something out there to power this many?
any help is appreciated:)

The reds have such low Vf that they match up about 3:2 with the blue in terms of voltage per string.

Xitanium?

A 40W Xitanium will run 50 reds in 5 strings of 10.

Then another for the blues in 4 strings of 5.

yes, I already got the pdf for that driver, looks like it will be pretty easy.
thanks again, I almost used a PC power supply:whistle:

Sounds like a great plan- and only 40W? I found out I can source the UFO 100 watt grow light from china for 246$, but that doesn't include shipping / import, tax, duties, etc...

Any progress on this yet?

Sounds nice. Post a pic when you can.

Funny, i was just about to suggest that. I have 4 of them powering all kind of stuff in my room.

Same here. Using spare computer PSUs to drive 3 watt series of LEDs for commercial applications. No problems, and a heckuva lot more current capability per dollar than Xitanium.

350mA would be the highest I would like to go

Then why not use half the number at 700mA? (assuming of course you don't have a pile of 1watt emitters you are just trying to do something with)
