In all likelihood you probably cannot. I can't see the bulb this takes, but it looks like probably a holder for a European PY21W bulb (the one with the base index pins not straight across from each other). I am guessing you're trying to change a turn signal into a park/turn lamp, is that right? There is probably an easier way to do it without hacking anything -- please say more about the project.

Hi, sorry, exactly right on all counts.
Its for an Alfa Romeo 156 OEM xenon headlights.

I've seen the DRL1 module that Daniel sells but thought this might be an easier way.

You will definitely not find a socket to do what you want with those lamps, the socket doesn't exist. The DRL1 module does not do what you have in mind, it does not add an American-style dim amber front position lamp function. It runs the (bright amber) front direction indicators in a steady-burning mode as daytime running lamps, except when they are flashing as indicators. There are modules to do what you want to do, but they're harder to track down. Dan Stern may have them or know where to get them; I don't recall whether I got mine (for a research project) from him or elsewhere.

What country are you driving this car in?

To quote Charlie Brown, "Rats!"

Wanted to get some sort of position/DRL lamps that would not involve extra units being stuck to the front.
Had thought of replacing the useless fog lamps with the Hella round DRL units (009 599-801) until I saw the price.

I'm in the UK.

You're barking up the wrong tree, then; parking lights (front position lamps officially, "side lights" in UK parlance) and DRLs are not allowed to be amber in the UK, they must be white.

Thanks. Seen plenty with amber but doesn't mean its legal.
Will pursue the Hella route. Missed out on some used ones at £50 last month and was very annoyed.
