You guys are killing me!

I can't afford the counter space for a meat grinder, so I buy ground "meatloaf mix" 3/4 lb ground beef, and 3/4 lb ground pork - when I make meatballs, or meatloaf. It actually costs less than ground beef. I mix them together by hand, and add some Grill Masters: "Montreal Beef" or "Brown Sugar - Bourbon" seasoning. Usually an egg, some bread crumbs, an onion, and garlic, and/or some Italian seasoning.
I took a tip from Chef Ramsey, and cooked a few burgers in butter.
I started with 1/3 lb 85% lean burger patties.
I've inherited a couple of meat grinders. Hope to someday use them to make venison burger and sausage. 🍔My grandmother used to use a meat grinder something like this occasionally. Actually the only thing I recall her using it for was to grind up leftover ham, to make ham salad sandwiches.
I guess she used it for other meats, but I don't recall.

My dad used one like that whenever he'd mix deer or elk meat and pork meat, sometimes beef.My grandmother used to use a meat grinder something like this occasionally. Actually the only thing I recall her using it for was to grind up leftover ham, to make ham salad sandwiches.

Meatloaf and mashed potatoes from the Ukrops deli was mighty tastey at lunch today. Chased it down with a 21oz bottle of lemon-lime 'electrolit' sports drink.
Ukrops puts small pieces of softened potatoes like in potato salad to add lumps. It's a neat trick. The meatloaf is a very finely ground beef with bits of bread crumbs and covered with a ketchup, then gravy & onions. It's like $5 but worth it.
So Mr Fixer, after seeing this post of yours regarding meatloaf, last night it was decided that we would go to the local Diner for dinner.View attachment 49357

Yup, if I order meatloaf it comes with a side of brocolli too.So Mr Fixer, after seeing this post of yours regarding meatloaf, last night it was decided that we would go to the local Diner for dinner.
Guess what I ordered?
Yep. Meat loaf.
There was a truck stop diner on State Hwy Route 1 and 9, that was known for it's meatloaf. So much so, that when they sold the diner, they published the recipe in the local newspaper. My wife made meatloaf with that recipe and I became used to that level of goodness. So I was a bit disappointed with this diner's version.

That's a cool range top, @desert.snake. How long have you had it?
Yeah, she's just ripe, but I haven't cooked beef for about a year now, the dog suffers from kidney failure and only eats special food. The smell of meat that is not given to her upsets her greatly. I only fry chicken cutlets and fish, she is indifferent to them. Sometimes I eat fried pork, but I fry it and eat it at my friends' houseHow's the beetroots this time of year on your side of the planet... Time for Borscht?
