Ok, I'm new here so don't yell at me and shut down the thread too quickly...I had that happen already and tried to learn from that experience by searching first, then posting. I'm learning. I want to pick up an Arc AAA for an EDC and I would like to know if there is any other sites I should check out other than the company site. I found some links in older archived threads but they seemed to be dead now, or people asked the question and the thread turned to an Arc-praising party instead of giving suggestions on where to get them. Any tips? Thanks much for your help.

nbp, you can also try contacting Arc via their email and inquire about dealers in your region that sell the lights in walk-in stores.

Hi nbp...

Welcome aboard!

And please take heart! B@rt is a good guy. He could have been a little kinder and gentler in his message to you, IMHO ( :poke:), but he was correct in the content. The CPF is a great place to visit and spend a lot of time...primarily beause of the extraordinarily nice and kind people who comprise the CPF. The strength of the CPF also lies in the fact that it is moderated extremely well. You were just caught on the fringe of those moderating efforts.

Again, take heart! We welcome you with open arms. Enjoy the CPF! It`s a magical land that has no other equal in Cyberspace.

NOW...back on track.

Your best bet for getting an Arc AAA is to order one directly from Arc. Peter and Merri Gransee are "good people", and their Arc AAA is one of the greatest lights ever made.

You can also watch for Arc AAA`s being sold on the CPF Marketplace. They show up every once in a while.

Finally, if you`re interested, send a PM to me and let me know what kind of Arc AAA that you`re after. I have *several* Arc AAA`s in many flavors that are mint and NIB that I could probably send your way.

Where are you in Wisconsin, BTW? I`m in the Burlington-Racine area. If you`re close enough, I could show you my Arc "stash". :p

In any event...best wishes to you with your quest!

:) :D

I'd suggest getting them directly from the Arc website. The biggest complaint is usually the cost/method of shipping. Sometimes it's better to order a couple or several to make the shipping costs more bearable. You'll like this light. It's very reliable and works when you need it to work. However, if you're looking for a light with a creamy white beam tint, move along and look for something else.

I was there looking at the Camo Combo, and thought shipping was very reasonable considering you actually get a choice, something other sites should take a lesson from. $4.60 for Priority USPS ain't too shabby. The shipping stayed the same from:
1 Camo-Subtotal $17.95
Shipping and Handling $4.60
to
6 Camos-Subtotal $107.70
Shipping and Handling $4.60
Show me another site that charges the same shipping from $1.95(a lone 5w LED) to almost $110!:nana:

i could be wrong here, but it looks like they are only charging for the actual shipping costs (with no additional handling charges built in).

i believe, but could be mistaken that USPS Priority Mail uses the same shipping cost for any package 2.0 pounds or less. so, to ship one Camo or six Camo's might still be under 2lb.

IMO, they are to be commended for their shipping practices.

i received my very first Arc-P AAA (with the new ~2x brighter Nichia DS LED) just a week or so ago. very nice indeed. i believe *overall* it compares quite favorably with both the Fenix E0 Dart and the Fenix E1 (both of which i have owned for quite a while now - over a year, i would guess). i'm very glad to have all three of these fine little lights. the Arc appears to be more robust in construction than the two Fenix lights. now with the DS version of the LED in the Arc-P, it now performs more favorably in the brightness department too.

enjoy your Arc.

Are you forgetting about the Arc-AAA we offer with the special Snow LED?

How do you get the special snow LED? I just see the standard and premium models under the Arc AAA page. Or is the snow LED in the premium? I'm not sure which one I want, or if I want to spend the extra for premium, or even what the snow LED is.

Well, I just ordered the premium from the arc website. I appreciate the help everyone, esp. carpe diem. Thanks for the info. I hope I love this light as much as everyone else loves theirs and get lots of use from it. Thanks Peter for the very helpful forum.:twothumbs

The Snow version is a limited run, not a regular production item. Irregular items are kept on the accessories page.
