Re: C & D O-Sink unified thread
I would love to make a single product. Don't get me wrong. At least in the beginning I will probably have to make seperate products. My engeneering system is slower than yours and I will have to go through a couple of sessions with my machinest buddy in order to get the design right. Somthing tells me that the change in slug design is being done to force design changes in finished product.
The Hex sink may acyually big a big O sink insted. It may not. I need to feel what the emitter lock feels like both ways. The whole idea with the O-Sink is to make it easy to center the emitter perfectly...everytime. That is the goal with the hex sink as well. I am just not sure that creating a system which dosen't have a positive lock will feel right to me. To use an O design with the hex slug pattern means the tips of the hex will actually have to be smaller than the O. That means there will a potiential for play. I am not sure that works for me. I like the idea of setting the desired lead position and locking the emitter in place in one step.
From my point of view untill, I get a final product information PDF (I only have a preliminary) or an actual part or two it is going to be tough for me to get the part ready.
If I work at it I will have some parts soon to work with.
