Cabela's 9p?

Cleaning out and found a Cabela's 3 x cr123 incan that looks a lot like a 9p right down to the xenon bulb assy. It still works fine. It has an anti-roll bezel. How do I find a compatible LED conversion? What is the equiv rechargeable battery for 3 x 123 length? I'm guessing it wouldn't fit in a "regular" charger either. I can prolly just use 3 x RC123 and a regular charger also. I'm looking at the Malkoff M91B drop in. Suggestions?
Thanx

I remember these, but never owned one. I still have a Cabela's lamp module that was both an incan lamp and three 5mm LEDs, similar to the A2. It is P60 sized as you said, and works in my SF hosts. However, it is smaller in diameter than a P60, so another drop in might need to be sanded down to fit.

I had a Cabelas 12P at one time.. Used 4 CR123's.. wish I had the back after all this time along with Wolf-Eyes turbo head lights I sold.. but anyways

For a rechargeable, you need 18500 or 17500 as two together equal the length of 3 CR123 batteries.. then you can run any P60 type bulb rated for 9V or an equivalent Malkoff dropin

Yes, to the best of my memory, one click was just the LEDs, the second was both the incan and LEDs. I think I paid all of $6 for it on clearance many years ago. Haven't used it much since it runs on primaries, all my heavily used incans run on rechargeables.

I think your best bet is to get a malkoff 3p dropin, 2 AA batteries and a battery sleeve from oveready and make it the best task light ever. I have the m31w and it's a really nice tint. Also, rechargeable nimh AA will work great.

18500 won't work because the 9p isn't wide enough. I'm not sure about the 17500.

Will the 3P dropin work on a 9P voltage?

No you will blow the dropin. The m31 (3p) has a max of 3v. So you can use 2-1.5v AA or 1 cr123, but not a rechargeable cell
That's what I thought, thx. I got a cheap 9p LED drop in from Amazon for $10. It seems to work ok with 3x123. I'm gonna be looking at rechargeable options. If I stay with the 9v format will rechargable 123's work ok? Concerns? When this cheap dropin goes down I might consider a rechargeable 2xAA and shift to a 3v format. I vaguely remember a discussion of RCR'S and protected cells but I cannot find the links to re-educate myself. I guess the question is, would I better served with a 9v dropin or a 3v?

So it all depends on the voltage range the dropin can handle. Each rcr123a is 3.7v each. Keeppower does have a 3v rechargeable but they don't last very long, but aren't too expensive. If you want to run 3-3.7v cells, I would absolutely get a malkof m91bn. Versatile if you use 1 cell but can handle up to 12 volts.

Here is the 3 volt rechargeable:

Thanx, that is certainly an option. My only concern they appear to only come with cable for recharging 2 at a time.

To use 6P with 2x16650 you can use 69mm EXcap
If your 6P is bored out you can use 2x18650
---
To use 6P with 2x17500, you will need 35mm EXcap
If your 6P is bored out you can use 2x18500
All EXcaps are with installed McClicky switch.
