That's about the right size a and shape for a SureFire "Beast", a HID, probably the rechargeable B2. That E2 next to it sure looks tiny...

Kinda resembles a piston and connecting rod to me...

Incidentally, the B1 versions is/was slated to run on twenty (20) CR123 batteries. That's over $72 in batteries using the pricing on SureFire's web page. The burn time is 80 minutes, almost a dollar a minute of operating cost without amortizing the purchase or repairs & lamps.

I have no idea who would pay a dollar a minute to use a flashlight. Even Arctic search & rescue teams seem unlikely to find this attractive.

The only flashlight I know of more expensive to operate is the M6/HOLA.

PS. I realize SureFire's battery prices are very high.

Heh heh...thats $220 of batteries if you buy them locally for $11 a pop

$11 a pop as in one or two saaby?

they cost 13.99 at radio-shack and 9.56 at wal-mart. (where i live anyway)
