I would like to buy either of these. As the next generation of the LS (1W) is rated at 30 Lumen rather than 18 lumen (as of now).
I am wondering if it is possible to replace the current LS with the new LS when it comes out (presumably they have the same dimension and require current and voltage. Are the LS permanently fixed to these heads?

The price of both of them are temping, but as I am not in a hurry, I can wait. If I can swap the LS I will go ahead and get it, but if not I have to think a bit more about it.

Thanks for any input.

unfortunately in both those units the LS led is bonded to the bodies of the lights. And this is necessary since the bodies act as heatsinks of the leds and it ensures good heat transfer between the led and the light body.
