I am a newbie and need someone to explain or direct me to a link where I can read up on the different types of CREE heads that all the LED flashlight uses. WHat I like to know is the advantages and disadvantages of each (ie efficiency/output), which one is newer etc etc.

Is there a FAQ about this?

Cree bins in order of efficiency(least to most).

M2, M3, N2, N3, P2, P3, P4, Q2, Q3, Q4, Q5, R2, R2, R3, R4

The further up you go, the brighter and more efficient the LED is. A one higher up should take the same voltage and current of one lower down. Same power, more light.

This is a good starting point. Thanks.

So for a Romisen RC-G2, how would I know which one is it using?

Also, going according to the scale, a Ultrafire C3 P4 will produce less output compared to a Ultrafire C3 with Q5 than correct?

Romisen seems to use the las number to designate the Bin code. So the RC-G2 uses the P2 bin. The Q5 should be 20-30% brighter then the P4 at the same power.
