Newbie here, and I've admired your works for several years actually, just never got around to posting. Partly.... well mainly I don't know what I'm talking about. Anyway, I bought the 500 lumen XPG from Cabela's afew years ago, and noe it has quit on me. The design is solid, and I ordered a new bulb, but that wasn't the problem. It's the batteries. I found in a previous CFP thread that they are permanent, Is this REALLY true or is there a SAFE way to extract them to use the rest of the light for something like a P7 mod?

Thanks,

Trent

Here's the original post from CPF that got me to order the new bulb, but my first step in a mod would be removing the batteries. Is there a safe way to do this other than just bully them out with a drill? If I have to bully them out can someone prescribe a good buffer to keep the pH around seven for Mother Earths sake.
