I just ordered a Tec 40 (and a spare bulb) from brightguy. I cant wait till it gets here on tuesday. Any owners liek to share their thoughts on this light??

Nice light. I've got a yellow one with an EverLED in it, very nice. I also have a PT20 with the stock incandescent bulb, again very nice. You will be happy with it!

Must see pics of yours with the Everled! Im thinking of putting a Teal Everled for my Tec40.

I love my Tec40s almost as much as my ArcLS /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif. Very nice lights although I did have to put foil in the bottom of one to get it to work with some battery types. You might also want to check out the narrow beam reflector if you want a little more throw.
My Tec40s are no longer stock however as last week I recieved 4 EverLeds and currently have a Red and Teal in my Tec40s. The Teal is very bright but I'm starting to prefer the Red for actual use as it lets me see quite a bit more detail then the Teal. The white Everled gives a good amount of useable light out to 40-50 feet, probably more but my yards not big enough to tell and I haven't started measuring distances around the neighborhood yet.

If you want to improve the beam and brightness of the Tec 40, put a 3 cell M@g bulb and rechargeables in it. It will be brighter, and whiter than with the stock bulb (which is rather dim). The M@g bulb also makes the beam rounder and more even.

Is the Tec40 a tip positive flashlight which can be used with the EverLed without any modification?

As long as you put the batteries in as directed, it's the correct polarity for an EverLed. Also, the head assembly has a "collar" around the positive battery contact, preventing it from making contact with the flat surface of the minus side of a battery. It makes a good host for the EverLed.
