i spent some time at different battery sites and made up this chart. i thought others might find it useful...

Capacity in milliampere hours for Common Flashlight Batteries-

CR 2016 - 80mA

CR 2032 - 225 mA

9 Volt - 600 mA

AAAA - 600 mA

CR2 - 850 mA

N - 1000 mA

AAA - 1200 mA

CR 123 - 1500 mA

AA Alkaline - 2850 mA

AA Lithium - 3000 mA

C - 8350 mA

D - 18000 mA

Those numbers are taken at very low power drains, much lower than flashlights use. You need to find some different graphs for flashlight-like drain levels.

Litfuse- you're right, it's a better chart than mine. wish i had found that before making my own.

CromagNet- i made the change as you suggested, but then again, the chart that Litfuse linked shows them at 2900. hell, close enough for comparison purposes.

paulr- good point. any idea of what loses we might expect when using them in flashlights?

Hello Coyote,

I ran some tests at higher current draws. You may want to check out the
"Alkaline Battery Shoot out" and "123 Battery Shoot out" threads.
