Carbon Arc Search lights?

I was curious about the lights used during car dealership openings, and etc. About a meter wide, on a trailer, with it's own generator.

Are these still made or are they all remanufactured lights from war surplus?

Anybody know how much they cost?

They're still made. When I first started looking for the Maxa-Beam I found a lot of websites for searchlights/spotlights. They were for things like boats, helicopters, theaters, etc. I didn't have an interest so I didn't bookmark them. Put "6 Million Candle Power" in your search engine and see if you find anything. IIRC those were the keywords I used.

Thanks for those links, I'd kinda like to have one, as impractical as it would be.

Unless I could use it to shine on the cars that have their music turned up way loud.

You could also use it to send the bat-signal...
Or go to the top of a hill near to where you live, and shine it at people's houses.

Or try to signal passing helicopters and aricraft.
