While I've never pulled one apart, I'm thinking all the triples you see with "glow posts" are doing exactly what you're describing. Very small amount of "glue" mixed with glow powder, placed in the bottom of the post hole before the optic is inserted. Of course this will generally glue the optic in place but you could carefully and liberally coat the bottoms of the optic posts with a mold release compound prior to insertion. Should pop out after curing. Don't think there would be any danger to any electronics after curing. You could also fill the drilled out posts with that mix given the right size needle (wait, I should offer that...)
