Hell, I'm not air-tight, and I get pretty frigging hot in the sun too!

This shouldn't be too much of a mystery. Same thing happens to your attic, and it has no windows while at the same time it should have plenty of vents.

Also light colored cars do much better than my dark brown truck at keeping cool!
