I recently helped my son install US market fog lights in his 2001 Prelude.
Honda had included some extra terminals in the wiring harness from the dashboard to the bumper. So adding relays under the dash and wiring up front really wasn't all that hard compared to building additional connection points in the existing harness throughout.

Everybody wants JDM fog lights. He wanted US type. US market are scarce. Not many were made that didn't go into the car as a factory option. He found a set in Canada of all places. His car was one of the last Preludes to be built. Production halted in December 01. His was built in November 01. By then they were adding things like factory tinted windows and alarm system with a keyfob, and cd changers as standard equipment but it was too late, the world had yawned and so the Prelude was to be no more. His was a base model with a bunch of extras but did not have factory fog lights.

Several years back he scooped it up cheap with a broken engine and a "salvage" title. A more torquey engine from a Japanese Accord station wagon was acquired, rebuilt and swapped in for the broken factory engine. Nearly the entire car has been rebuilt since then. Mostly factory parts or factory upgrades have gone into rebuilding the car. Some from my abandoned project where I was restoring a 97 SH. But mostly from junkyard runs where we grabbed parts from broken ones in decent shape prior to a crash or botched engine swap.

To the left is his 012 Acura TL AWD SH version that is a super nice hot rod that zooms like an Italian race car and rides like a German touring car. He opted for the automatic tranny version since it has F1 style paddle shifters on the steering wheel for manual shifting.

OMG! You sold it! Please tell me you needed the money for some sort of life-saving operation or something along those lines. 😮

I guess its a bit of nostalgia for me, but I remember my second car. I got it from a government auction and it was a 1990 Chevrolet caprice with a small block 350 that was throttle body injected. It was a fun car that never passed emissions. The trunk leaked, the headliner I had held up with pins, the broken seats I had replaced with bench seats out of a 88 Impala. It had a bent hood that I also replaced and the paint was shoddy. I put a set of Cadillac brakes on it and a set of nice tires. I drove the heck out of it. Only to get rid of it when I couldn't get it re-registered because of emissions. If I still owned that car, I am sure it would be still chugging away. You don't see cars like that anymore that you can just buy for 5-800 dollars.

When I was a young kid, my Dad had an early 70s' forest green 911
Things were tough in the 70s' so he put it up for sale.

The first guy who came out to look at it was standing there with my Dad,,
figure I'd give them a bit of a show on my yellow Schwinn Sting-Ray by putting my feet through my handlebars & go no handed.
Was zooming down the hill and said "look no hands".... and then I crashed

Later, my Dad told me he said to the guy 'that's why I'm selling the car'
the guy said 'I'll take it'

edit: fix typos

Try to track down a used Honda Fit. Only reason it was discontinued was to make room for the Honda HR-V. The Fit being a 5-Door hatchback, Honda correctly figured that morphing it into a sub-compact SUV would improve sales. They were right! Currently a huge waiting list for the HR-V. Customers walk into Honda dealerships, fill out the paperwork, pay for them, and wait for their individual one to be delivered to the dealership months later! Nothing wrong with the Fit. Honda reliability and build quality. Plus, since it was discontinued recently, prices are a bit more reasonable.
