To little interior space compared to exterior I'd love a Nissan cube if there transmissions was such junk it has so much interior space

This is my toy.. I have owned it for 17 years. Still a turbocharged V6, with a little alcohol injection. Only has 51,300 original miles on it, still has all of the creature comforts, AC, cruise, power seats, power moonroof, power antenna, power trunk... A little over 700 Rear Wheel HP and gets 21 MPG if you keep your foot out o it. Fun Streetcar.

Thank you ! That was a track rental on Halloween. We rented the track and no spectators were allowed, only 8 cars were running that day, basically just a Test N Tune day. WorldWide Technologies track in Illinois just changed the rules for the " StreetCar" series so the event has been moved to Bonne Terre now.

Sweet Grand National and terrific action photos. I always liked the Darth Vader-ish look of those cars.
This was the first time I came across that turbo 3.8L at a car show. But wait you say, that's not a GN!
Nope, it's an '89 Turbo Trans Am! I think one of the most unexpected twists that Pontiac ever did with the TA series. Might have upset the V8 purists but it's hard to argue with that much power and potential under the hood, especially if compared to the contemporary 305 c.i. V8 at the time!

Nice! I have several friends that own both a GN and a TTA
My taste in cars has shifted a lot over the years. In high school I was all about muscle and hot rods. After that it was pickups. Now I really like vintage Americana like Model A's. We have a 1930 Model A coupe and it's such a joy. We bought it in Oregon. Fully restored. 39 ford juice brakes, model b engine conversion, 12v negative ground conversion. Of course I'd prefer an all original, unrestored pure stock car but this thing is such a hoot and smile getter.

The Grand National above: great car man! I used to be all about Studebaker's. The Stude 259 and 289 engines were engineered to be blown, much like the 3.8. In fact, rumor has it that the engineers who worked on the 3.8 may have used the Stude design as a base template given how many stark similarities there are between the engines in terms of deck/head design, CC chamber and valve angle design. I'm not schooled enough on auto machining to know but it's a wild and popular zeitgeist rumor and I doubt very few engineering projects in the automotive space start completely from scratch when there's such ripe fruit to pick from so low in terms of solving problems. In any case, the 3.8 was wild for its time and let's not forget about the Mustang SVO from 84-86 which is just as crazy for its era.

My former boss (now retired) rebuilds old cars to museum quality. One day while at his shop I said "well boss you just added two years to my 97 Prelude restoration project". He said "how's that?" I said after seeing how you do it I'm going back and starting all over". He chuckled and said "sorry about that". I almost regret that I later sold the car about halfway through the project. Almost. There were days I'd hope space junk would fall on it. But now to his story.

He was doing this car when I met him. He called it his 401k car. When he found it he hired a contactor to cut a road through the woods to go get it. It arrived in 5 pieces. It took him 4 years to find all of the correct parts but when he was finished it was show room new looking stem to stern.
This is the one he raced against the likes of FireBall Roberts, Ralph Earnhardt and Richard Petty in 1963.
He soon realized he was a better mechanic than driver so he built cars for others to race out of a 2 car garage in his home village. He later decided restoring vintage cars was more lucrative than fixing crashed race cars. He now has rare late 50's and early 60's gems in museums across America and has since retired. I had the distinct pleasure of seeing some of his projects in motion and was in awe of how much detail he put into them.
This was his first car he bought while in high school. He said he had 3 jobs in order to buy it. It was white with blue interior when I met him. But he restored it back to it's original colors a few years ago. Each year his wife does a calendar. She restores 1960's European cars like Fiats and Volkswagons.
