Hi all.
This light is for my Gf, she rides to school and work and in Finland it's getting dark this time of year. Since she rides only in roads and there are other cyclists and walkers, I wanted the light to not disturb others.
This started as a Halogen light 2.4V and 0.4A
I don't have any good C-cells so I had to make place for 3AA cells
I bought this to hoast mainly because lens and reflector looks nice, what do you think?
Heatsink is small and it heats to 60 deg. celsius when I tested it indoors, but I think the led will survive in use.
Some aluminium from cheap 2AA light keeps middle cell in place and also conducts
heat from heatsink to batteries.
Driver is 2-mode from KD and led is R2. Low is enough to be seen.
Here is a pic about 1 meter from whitewall.
and here is E1B on left and bike light mod on right. Both on high, E1B with fresh cell and bikelight cells were around 1.25V each. Distance 8-9 meters.
I thing this kind of beam with lot of spill in front is good in cities and it wont disturb others.
The beam does't look good on white wall but I hope she likes to use this.
3 Titanium LSD are in charger for morning.
