Has anybody replaced the front window on one of these with an UCL or some such glass? Just did the ssc p4 mod (u2 bin) and while I'm very happy I just don't want that much flood... Well over half the light is just going to completely unusable directions.

I believe the ims-20 reflectors work as a direct replacement for the stock optics, but I'd still have the two frosted sections of window flanking the center thrower.

for off road I don't use glass, as a good hit from a small rock would shatter the glass, I have broken UCL's in my m*glite doing nothing...

the IMS20 in not a direct replacement ( for SSC P4), & needs to be trimmed @ the bottom for a correct focal length.

Ran the Nite Rider Sol which has a UCL-type glass window for about 9 months now. I don't do a whole lot of trail riding at night (sometimes), mostly commuting. That nite rider has been sweet, but I figured its time for something more....interesting... now.

I coulda sworn there was a direct fit reflector floating around somewhere, I'll have to dig up the thread on MTBR.

don't get me wrong, most people just use IMS20's un-modded no problem, but to get it right you must trim the bottoms a bit... thats what Dom & I did for the CNC series...
