CCrane AA Size Dummy Batteries

Nice find Marty. Does anyone know if these can be cut down to use as spacers when charging 1/3 AA's or 2/3 AA's in a Maha C204F charger???? Seems possible if they have a conductive core.

Darn now I am going to have to place another order. I have just been using the cheap steel ones, not good in metal lights

Brock:

Cranes also are closing out the 3LED single 3.6V alkaline light that never sold well because of battery costs. If you still have some of the 3.6V batteries I sent you back in April, that might appeal to you too.

I ordered 20 of the suckers on Monday... It didn't seem worth the shipping for just one $10 order. They should be here soon. I will report on them.

Unless you ordered via special shipping, they don't charge you to ship them. TX
(but they might to N. Kalifartnia)

The Postal system in N Kalifartnia is highly corrupt. You need to pay them to handle the package, what with customs duties and declarations. In the soon to rival communista New Jersey the shipping was still free. Though I have to pay a registration fee on anything I have that's monogrammed Dummy.

Mine was mailed the next day for no shipping costs. Ordered 10 for $10.

I got mine double order of 20 yesterday. They are WELL worth a $1 a piece. Someone must have bumped their head when they originally priced them at $49.95 for 10

$5 a piece is more of what I'd expect to see individualy carded units selling for in an electronics store - not 10 at a time via mail order.. Shipping was free too!! - even to N Kalifartnia where the postal system IS indeed screwed up!

Essentially they are a black plastic battery body with a metal contact that runs through it. These are a much more elegant solution than bolts or other home made spacers - especially in lights that are built for sale where a "professional finish" is important.

These look like the same type of dummy AA cells that Mike, member #65, has been selling on Buy/Sell/Trade. He was selling them for 60 cents a piece in lots of 25. His last price that I remember was 50 cents each in lots of 10.

Can these be opened up and modified? Seems it would be a good way to insert a resistor or regulator circuit inside one of the dummy batteries.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">The plastic battery body is a seamless one-piece deal... Maybe the electrode could be driven out from the + towards the - end.

I'll give it a look-see this evening but probably won't destroy one finding out, as I purchased these specifically for mods that I sell. I've always used home made spacers, but wanted something a little more professional looking for sales units.
