i was wondering where i could get one of those and what type of bulb would work with it with the increase in volt? thanks in advance for any help.

You need an A19 extender. Optics HQ sells those. Look under "acessories," and scroll down the page til you find it. Should be about $20.

If you were asking about an M3T, you'd just need the bulbs designed to work in an M4. But I'm not sure about which bulbs you could use in an M3 with an A19 attached.

For an M3, you will need a 12V D26 series lamp assembly. I do not know of anyone who makes one.

As Monocrom said, you might want to convert to an M3T by adding a KT Turbohead. Then you will have a number of choices in both 9V and 12V LA's.

You will still have your stock M3 at 9V with the existing bezel and LA. I am not sure there is a clear advantage of any kind to making a 12V D26 M3.

The M3's lamp is separate from its refelector, and not part of the D26 family of lamp assemblies.

You are of course, absolutely correct. Maybe I brain faded M2. I still do not know of a 12V LA in that size. Somebody here will know if such a thing is available.

With a turbo head you need either 4 x CR123A bulbs for primary batteries which IIRC are MN60 or MN61

or you can run the 3 x CR123A bulbs on 2 x 17500 li-ion rechargeables i.e. MN15 or MN16

The abovr part numbers are for the Surefire lamps and in both cases Lumen Factory also make lamps.

M3 (normal head) head + A19: Use 2x17670 and MN10, MN11, HO-M3, EO-M3.

M3T head + A19: Treat same as M4, i.e. primaries and MN60, MN61, HO-M4A.
