Cell phone battery charging question

I was told not to do the first charge with the 12v car charger. Do the first charge with the 120v charger. I can guess that the 12v charger is more aggressive so that it would be charged faster but that would only be a guess. Does anybody know what the difference is and why?

Most charging circuitry is built in to the cell phone, so you can use any power source as long as the voltage and current is the same. It should make no difference.

If you are charging the battery out of the cell phone then it's another story.
