Changes @ Lummi

A plan is in the works to get the majority of back orders dispatched within the next three weeks.
All back orders should be dispatched before the end of May.
Hopefully this message from back in April is being fulfilled? If you communicate openly with everyone they will wait, but are these older orders now taken care of?

Same here. I have ordered 9 torches from Rob in the last 4 weeks and all have arrived before or by the agreed date with good communication in between. So I'm more than happy with the service and highly impressed with the product

How about sharing some pics of that collection

Still waiting for the pics of that awesome collection you acquired

Gentlemen keep in mind the jeer thread has been closed to allow a little breathing time and honestly it was very much needed. Skimming this thread shows some attempting to steer it off track more towards a jeer and this is not the place for that.

DM51 has already pointed others to the correct thread and asked to remain on topic. Please do not allow emotions to force this thread to close as well as this will do no good for anyone.....past or future customers alike.

Keep in mind that we must all work together as one to keep CPF smoothly tracking along. I believe over time the other related threads will re-open and you can all try again to work things out....for now however please keep this thread on topic.

I thought I'd share this private message I rec'd from a forum member......

>Deleted by Robocop.....posting PMs not allowed<

I'm relatively new to this list and contrary to this individual's claim I have actually bought 9 torches from Rob. I havent posted pics yet for the following reasons:
1) I have a job and therefore have limited time to humour the paranoia of a certain list member
2) I have just tried to upload a picture but cannot find how the hell I'm suppoed to do it. The faq refers to a link that I cannot find!!!!

Considering the fantastic response I rec'd from a number of list members for the lubricant for my imaginary Lummi torches I am going to assume that the above the tone of communication is the exception to the rule and continue to be a member.

Rob, the person that sent me the message above appears to be one of your most vociferous detractors and I think this says an awful lot more about him, her?, than it does about you.

Yeah Phil, that doubting member is me. And you might want to grasp the rules a bit, you are not allowed to quote PM's, emails or other correspondence here on the forum. I brought it to PM's, because that is where I felt it belonged. The PM you quoted above, was not the first one I sent you. The first one was actually a respectful request for pics of your new collection, as I stated in the thread. When you blew me off for days without the common courtesy of a reply (and yes, you logged on daily), of course I got suspicious. So perhaps Rob can find the time to take some pics of the lights he has lying around his shop, I am sure you could use those

Oh, BTW, I am FAR from one of Rob's "most vociferous detractors"

As 250xlt stated you cannot post PM messages. You can paraphrase, but the language included there, while generally allowable in a PM, which is not for the public view, is not allowed in the threads.

If Rob is really doing an about-face, then that's great news for the entire community, but there are members here who have not fared nearly as well as you claim to have and although it may be that you're just happy with Lummi and giving support, it isn't going to necessarily be taken that way given the rest of events surrounding this discourse.

Your post has been reported and you might want to read everything posted by those you refer to as vociferous before casting aspersions.

Philsyson I find it hard to believe that directly after I asked members to remain on topic (a nice way of saying no drama allowed) you respond directly after with a reply that is first against the rules by means of posting a PM.

Secondly you tend to stir the pot just a little more regardless of your intentions. Considering your very low post count and being new here I will leave this as a warning this time. Any further out of line replies will not be tolerated simply because now I can believe that you have been educated just a little more of what I was asking for earlier.....in other words any more drama or rule violations will be considered intentional so please remain on topic.

f250 and Kaichu I am not sure how much involvement you both have with Orb and honestly do not wish to know. I do know that as older members I would hope you can understand my request to remain on topic. Yes your replies were civil enough for me however again each off topic post has potential to spin this thread into a disaster.....again in other words if it is not on topic just do not say anything at all please.

Dusty... your failure to yield to moderation has been compounded by a double violation of Rule 4 with your baiting post that also discusses banning. It has been deleted, as has a very ill-judged reply to it.

Take 2 weeks off, please, and don't come back until you are fully conversant with the Rules, or your return is likely to be a brief one.

So we can return to the topic again? as it was going on to the post #55.

It would be very enjoyable for all fans of Orb flashlights to hear about the changes in Lummi, according to the OP.

Apart from updating standing orders, are there any new projects in sight?

And please Rob, go on posting those nice pics of your work
(but remember about the 800x800 limiting size 😉)

If someone can point me in the right direction (the faq directs me to a 'pictures and albums' link which I cannot find) I'll post pictures of some of the torches I have recently acquired from Rob to help prove that I am in fact telling the truth.

Before anyone tells me this is 'off topic' my response is that it is 'on topic' as the photos will go some way to prove that changes clearly are happening at Lummi.

All I want to do is share with you my positive experience.

In order to keep this thread as "clean" as possible I'm PMing you the info you asked for.

Phil, you'll need to start a Photobucket bucket account, then when you have your pics stored in your own account you can link them into your posts.

To post a photo you then copy the photo link from your account, go to the posting window here, click on the little postcard looking image above the window area where you write and paste the photo link and save.

I know it sounds like a lot of hassle, and I guess it kind of is, but once you're done it'll seem much easier the next time around.

Can't wait to see the pics, and while you're at it, tell us a bit about them too!

Guys thanks very much for the responses. I'm off to Virginia Water right now (on a weeks hols and my wife is getting bored) and will sort this tonight or tomorrow. To confirm I'll be posting pics of 5 Lummi torches 2 x wee and 3 x Raw. The other 4 torches were actually given out to other people. I'm hopeful that you'll trust me on this and not think that I have exaggerated in my previous post of 9 torches as there really would be little point in doing that.

I actually had a problem with one of the Raw's not engaging full power unless quite a bit of force was used to twist the barrel. Rob suggested I swap barrels with another of my raws but this hasnt worked so I may need to take up Rob's offer of sending it back for repair.

@philsyson - Warning - don't let Jay R near you Lummi lights!!!!! He'll be off with them I tell you !! 😀

Just down the road from me. Was thinking about sorting out a UK meet there sometime.

Nahh. Don't need to. Just fitted my Raw-NS with an sst-50 and it's producing 500 lumens on a fresh cell ( Though not for long ). It drops to about 250 fairly quickly.

Jay, your batteries asked me to tell you they hate you. They were afraid to tell you in-person because they didn't know what you might do to them if you got really angry at them. 😛
