Just ordered a AA headlamp from Zebralight and will also order an 18650 headlamp from Zebralight. I've never used a rechargeable battery in my life and this will be my only 18650 device. I'll probably get the battery that ZL sells at their website.

I don't know where to start or what to buy as far as a charger for the 18650. Can you suggest a charger that would work in my situation?

Nitecore D2 or D4. Solid, reliable and affordable. Tons of other options out there though if you are so inclined.

I'll second Xtar charger. I think they have a few models that will charge from a USB. They also show the capacity of the charge which i find helpful. I started with the VC4 and now i have two other models. The VC2 model runs off a USB and also will charge NiMh (AAs)

What changes from my PB2 other than the usb-c connection?

Comparing with PB2, the PB2S has USB-C, QC3.0+PD3.0 fast charging; Great compatibility with unprotected 18650 18700 20700 21700 and protected 18650 batteries. :)

Thinking of getting PB2S and I come across LiitoKala Lii-MP2. Are they basically the same product?

Is there a charger that uses a USB connection to charge? That would be helpful as I carry a power bank when backpacking.

On it's website, Zebralight recommends this battery for the H600Fc. Is this a decent battery to order?

Can't complain. I've had a Lii-100 for a good four years before handing it down to my brother*, and no issues at all with correct use and careful storage. It charges well, and the power bank functionality is still functional.

*: funny story here... I'd given him a few of my old flashlights but he had no li-ion charger, so I loaned my old Lii-100 to him until a newer unit I'd ordered for him arrived. In the end he didn't want to accept the brand new one and just kept my old unit, and now I own a much newer Lii-100.

Definitely get the Xtar PB2S. Charges quickly. Works as a power bank. Works for up to unprotected 21700 batteries. Doesn't work for protected 21700 batteries, but as you only need to charge 18650s, that's not an issue. Best to get a 3 amp usb to 120 volt wall charger also for best results (full speed charging).

I'm using a PB2 (the 18650 only model) as a travel charger and backup power bank. Fantastic little unit.

Olight has a super simple and inexpensive USB charger that is good as a travel charger. Just has two magnetic leads that attach to the ends of the battery so it works for a variety of sizes. Not a very fast or smart charger but it works well and may fit your needs.
