Batteries = Any of the ones made by AW.

Chargers = Pila. Or if you just need something basic that still gets the job done, Ultrafire WF-139.

Well that was easy. No other ideas from others?:)
OK then...........

Thanks:)

For just penlites: Maha C9000 or LaCrosse BC900/BC700.
For batts: follow the suggestions by Anders. If you don't live in the states, and find that Sanyo eneloops are hard to find, you can also go with the Panasonic infiniums.

The poster above me is talking about lithium batteries and chargers.

Thanks :) Im in the US. Oregon.
Ive ordered the MH-C808M. This will do it all it seems.
Im ordering the recommended batteries depending on who has the best price.

What do you recommend for the car and or travel? Is there a car version that will do it all?
And Ive seen people recommend the 15 minute fast charger from Energizer. What would be the advantage of also having that?

And what have I got myself into?:)
What flashlights should I prepare myself to buy?:)

Thanks again............:twothumbs

In case your area is sparse on the actual Eneloop, it's generally accepted that the following are either re-badged Eneloops or built to the Eneloop specification silat:

Duracell Pre-charged (with a white and not a black insert around the positive post - see here)

Uniross Hybrio (branded Uniross and not UltraLast - see here and here and here)

Sony CycleEngery Blue (all)

That last link in the Hybrio line is a new post indicating it will now be more difficult to separate out the Hybrio variant that performs the same as the Eneloop.

I just picked up some AA eneloops because they get great reviews and are pretty much the standard by which all others are judged. The new Maha Imedion's look very good in comparison and are actually availible at a good price through Thomas Distributing.

AW is also considered a good source for rcr123's, 18650's, etc.

What kind of flashlights are you battery shopping for?

I would get eneloops - they are $9.96/4 at any Circuit City -
(for others I have read of people getting eneloops at $7.99/4 from HH Gregg )
I think they are marginally the "best" of the current LSD (Low Self-Discharge) batteries.

Bargain of sorts for LSDs is the Kodak Pre-Charged @ $7.88/4 from any local WalMart
(normally displayed with the camera accessories like flashcards)
- they seem to be on par with eneloops, eg: in flashlights,
as long as the device is not very voltage sensitive - please see -

eneloop vs. Kodak Pre-Charged Voltage Maintenance

I see you've already decided on a charger.

Hello silat.

Here is a good review of the charger you ordered.(Silverfox one)

C808M is well known to take good care of your cells, good choice.

Any of the 15 min chargers is hard to the cells with less cycles than on moderate chargers. (with less A).

A thumb of rule is to charge within 0,5-1,0 C, when C is the nominal capacity of the cells.

Here is why I recommended LSD cells to you, A thread started to lower the status for LSD cells.
In the end it went the other way around.
