Very informative site - I've done quite a bit of reading on it so far, lot of knowledge here. I do have a question about the 'low discharge rate' batteries, such as Eneloops, though. I did read that a couple of users just started using them when new, but what is the best way to deal with them? Should they go through a 'break in' cycle of some kind when new, or just maybe charge and go? Also, should they be regularly discharged in a similar pattern to regular NiMh? In other words, what's the best way to deal with them 'cradle to the grave'?
I have both MaHa c9000 (improved) and 801D.

If this has already been posted somewhere, I'm sorry I missed.

Take care... Quinn

Hello Quinn,

Welcome to CPF.

Just use them. Charge them as you would a normal NiMh cell. There have been some indication that there can be a very slight improvement using a Break-In charge, but I think they are good to go from the package.

The low self discharge rate chemistry is very new. We don't know the best way to take care of these from cradle to grave, but so far we are enjoying using them.

Stay tuned for future discoveries...

Tom
