Went to Target in Crystal Lake, IL. this evening. NOT in the flashlight area, but rather in an undefined aisle between electrical goods (bulbs, etc) and sporting goods they have the following. Blister cards containing 2 generic black plastic flashlights and 24 Duracell AA batteries. Price (not a closeout) is $7.99! No brand name, just says "Flashlight bargain" or something like that. I've a large stock of AAs so I didn't buy one but it looks like one could throw away the flashlights and be way ahead.

I saw the same thing at a Target in Minneapolis a few months ago. I have plenty of AA's on hand, but it's certainly a good deal. In the Target I was in, they were in an asile between automotive, and some hardware aisles. I haven't checked to see if they are still there, though. Great for a power outage, at that price. (Especially if you use the batteries in an EternaLight!)
