Cheap AA\'s

Just to let everyone know.
Costco has the cheap AA's again, the Kirkland brand. They last nearly as long as the name brands and a pack of 48 is 10.99.
That's 22 cents each.

Re: Cheap AA\'s

yeah, i've got a pack of those. pretty handy, lots of things run 4 x AA.

I couldn't find them on their website. Did you see them online or in a store?

Re: Cheap AA\'s

They were in the store only, in
northern california. These are a pretty good deal overall and I've only had one battery leak out of about 200 cells.

I haven't done a runtime comparison, but they work comparably to brand names in the tec-40 and energizer db 8aa. Less than a dollar for a battery change in the tec 40 seems pretty good after all the lithiums that pass thru the big dogs.

Re: Cheap AA\'s

Walgreen's has their AAs and AAAs on sale this week, 4 pack for $.99 (25 cents each...and you only need to buy 4 at a time).

FYI, Walgreen's *always* has their 24 pack of AA's for $10, at least around here. Way up at the top of the battery display... I've used hundreds of Walgreen's AA's and AAA's, and the only bad experience was once finding a AA DOA. The batteries seem to have a very decent capacity, compared to the name brands...

Re: Cheap AA\'s

I would not have believe what everyone is saying.

I just finished some battery run times on my mod'd minimag flashlights. They are all drawing or sucking up to 1A or more in some cases.

The kirkland has outrun the Duracell and the Energizer. In fact the Duracell I ended up running the test twice it was so bad. Both times the Duracell starting dropping light output almost immediately and was quite apparent.

So, I'm totally sold now that the Costco generic are pretty darn good batteries.

Re: Cheap AA\'s

I don't know if this is anything new, but cheapbatteries.com has "generic" AA's at $.12 each if you buy 120 of them.
