Chinese Type 229 ( ? Steel )
Built tight and solid ( Bolted together well ) Hefty .
Factory edge was FUBAR . ( Horribly done ) There was no testing the factory edge .
Guided edge was put down to 1500 grit Diamond and it failed at 200 slices .
Edge was re ground on my wet stone grinder ( 60 grit wheel ) and this edge failed at 300 slices .
Knife is a 2024 purchase , price was ................. ? Maybe around 30 Oz Bananas . ( Around )
Spine was a little crispy , so was given a little bench grinding to make it even more crispy ( Bushcrafty ) .
So scrapes wood & Ferro with no issue now .
Not sure this knife has anything special to offer , it's heavy for it's size and edge retention is average .
For it's weight (?) a fixed blade might be a better option .
Over all , not a regretful purchase ............. butt ! Not a outstanding one either ! ( I could live without it ) .
