Has anyone got any experience with the CL 1057 bulb? Will it fit the FM D26 reflector? I am thinking in using this in a 2x 18650 light, I believe that it is a 2.0A lamp and this would be ideal in this combination. Any thoughts?

Hi Cernobila!

The 1057 is a T-2.5 size bulb, FM sells 2 different bi-pin D26 reflectors, one is compatible with T-2.25 bulbs with G4 bases, the other is compatible with T-1.5 bulbs. I don't think the 1057 will fit either.

You might consider the GE787 in his G4 bi-pin D26 socket, (keep in mind that this has not been tested as far as I know, I'm only assuming it would fit)... Not sure how nice the beam would be (if at all) though..

I haven't been able to find any information on the dimensional differences between bulb sizes. T-2.25 bulbs tend to be shorter than T-2.5 and T-3, but are they narrower as well? As best I can tell, none of them are much wider than the 4mm pins.

I was planning on trying it - I have a couple of 1057s and the new FM D26 socket is on order. I'll let you know if it works.

I ran a potted Carley 1057 in a Mag 2C host on a pair of li-ion 18650 cells. It made a real nice light. I liked it a lot, but then it finally poof'd and I never got a replacement. Oh well.

I seem to recall I tried running it on three CR123A cells, but I think it ate them real fast. Too much current draw, and the cells sagged quickly making an orange beam in short order. Stick with top quality cells if you must go this route.

Yes, I think that this is a 2.0A bulb, not sure at 6V or 8.4V, would be used only on a pair of 18650's or perhaps C size. The question is the physical size and pin diameter that I am not sure about.
