I want to buy a small 2 level clickie switch. A search doesn't bring results. What is the technical name for Clickie switch?

I believe you want a single pole double throw switch.

DX has some clicky ones of that type, along with some double pole double throw.

Well, a regular switch is single pole single throw, but you are wanting something different (I think).

If you are making or modding a light, you may be looking for the wrong thing. Modes are controlled via the head 9 times out of 10, not the switch (directly).

Okay a single mode clickie then. I just want to know what the name for clickie switch is? I dont see "clickie" in any electronics websites or catalogs.

Latching, spring loaded single pole single throw pushbutton switch. That's about the best description I can come up with. As mentioned above, most special functions like levels are a function of the converter board, the switch just makes or breaks the circuit.
Maybe also known as "push to open, push to close, two position Form "A" contacts, SPST.

The square clickies at deal extreme are two mode. I found similar ones on digikey, the action/function of the two mode pushbuttons was listed under on-on-off.Its hard to tell though wether the plain off-on pushbuttons there are forward or reverse clicky.
If anyone has experience with the two mode, can you do momentary on with a light press? Is it possible to light tap and skip the second mode off?

Im also considering a single reverse or forward clicky and a slide switch to change the mode instead of a two mode clicky.

I was planing a 350mah amc7135 for high and a resistor for low. A single clicky and a 2 mode driver chip with memory would be really nice but i dont know where to get one so i figured id use the 2 mode switch.
