I was in Gart Sports today, and noticed a 3 LED headlight selling for $19.99. I snatched it up, of course. If it didn't have the name "Ultra-Bright" on it, I would have sworn it was a Clipper 3. I don't have a Clipper 3, but it looks identical to the pictures and information I've seen. It's an impressive little light.

The blister pack it comes in says the LEDs are made in Japan, and the unit is made in China. Does anyone know if the Clipper 3 is also made in China? Glow-Bug has the Clipper 3 selling for $24.00 on their site, and with an additional $5.50 shipping, the $19.99 was a significant savings, particularly from a brick and mortar. I'm having a hard time believing this isn't a Clipper 3 with just another name.

Hi,

I picked up a 3 LED light that looks exactely like the clipper, and comes with a headband. I got it at Oshmans Sports Shop at the Great Mall in Milpitas for $20.

It has 3 white LED's and uses 3 aaa batteries.

I wrapped one end with electrical tape so the battery won't accidentelly open, and covered the rubber head so it won't accidentely turn on when in my pocket.

It is a nice, bright, small, cheap to feed light.

Hi Bill,

It's been puzzling me that you mentioned the light turned on accidentally once in awhile. However, I have 2 of them and found that both of them are pretty solid (not loose at all) on the twist head switch.

I guess I figured it out now by accident (might not be your case). My girlfriend was packing for business trip the other day and I insisted her to bring along one of my clipper 3. When I tried to put in a set of freshly charged rechargeables into it, the light went on by itself. I checked the light to see if anything went wrong. I found that the head switch wasn't completely turned off (a *on/off* marker on the head) and the pointer was only a bit off the on marker and far from the off marker. She told me that she didn't know she needs to turn the head all the way to *click* (you could feel the click) to the off marker. She then told me that she guess it was the reason why the light went on accidentally once in her purse and she didn't tell me before.

I hope this would help.

Alan
